Denial of Service Flaw in Device-Mapper-Persistent-Data by Red Hat
CVE-2026-110036
3.3LOW
What is CVE-2026-110036?
A flaw in Device-Mapper-Persistent-Data allows local attackers to initiate a Denial of Service condition by manipulating user or system tools into processing specially crafted device metadata. This metadata may include a block index that is excessively large, triggering an arithmetic error within the application's synchronous block reading logic. As a result, the application can panic and unexpectedly terminate, leading to potential disruptions in service and system performance.
