What is CVE-2026-110877?

AdPlug, through version 2.4, is affected by a heap out-of-bounds read vulnerability in the CdmoLoader::load() function located in src/dmo.cpp. This issue occurs when attackers exploit a vulnerability that allows reading beyond allocated memory by supplying a truncated TwinTeam DMO file. Specifically, a crafted 12- or 13-byte file processed by dmo_unpacker::decrypt() can lead to reading data past the intended memory bounds, which may result in application crashes or unintended behavior.

Affected Version(s)

adplug 0 <= 2.4

Exploit Proof of Concept (PoC)

PoC code is written by security researchers to demonstrate the vulnerability can be exploited. PoC code is also a key component for weaponization which could lead to ransomware.
