What is CVE-2026-111150?

The libvgm library developed by ValleyBell exhibits a heap out-of-bounds read vulnerability within its PCM data-block decompressor. An attacker can exploit this flaw by crafting a specially designed .vgm file that utilizes a type 0x7F table containing wider compressed values. This manipulation leads to an unbounded compression-table index, allowing the DecompressDataBlk function to over-read memory from the heap and potentially crash applications using the library.

Affected Version(s)

libvgm 0

Exploit Proof of Concept (PoC)

PoC code is written by security researchers to demonstrate the vulnerability can be exploited. PoC code is also a key component for weaponization which could lead to ransomware.
