What is CVE-2026-111151?

OpenJPH, up to version 0.32.0, features a vulnerability in the HTJ2K cleanup-pass decoder that permits an attacker to execute a heap out-of-bounds write. This is achievable by supplying a specially crafted .j2c or .jph codestream with small precinct sizes, leading to memory corruption as the decoder erroneously writes data beyond the allocated buffer. This flaw can cause crashes and potentially be exploited to execute code in the context of the affected application.

Affected Version(s)

OpenJPH 0 <= 0.32.0

Exploit Proof of Concept (PoC)

PoC code is written by security researchers to demonstrate the vulnerability can be exploited. PoC code is also a key component for weaponization which could lead to ransomware.
