What is CVE-2026-111215?
The Netgate pfSense CE software, up to version 2.9.0, is subject to an OS command injection vulnerability that facilitates the execution of arbitrary commands by authenticated users with limited privileges. By inputting crafted values, such as ath0;, through the interfaces_wireless_edit.php and interfaces_assign.php scripts, attackers can manipulate the system's command execution, ultimately gaining elevated privileges. This vulnerability arises due to insufficient input validation during the interpolation of user-submitted data into shell commands, specifically within the ifconfig operations. Users are advised to review their configurations and apply necessary patches or updates to mitigate potential exploitation.
Affected Version(s)
pfSense CE 0 <= 2.9.0
Exploit Proof of Concept (PoC)
