What is CVE-2026-111219?

Netgate pfSense CE through version 2.9.0 is affected by a newline injection vulnerability present in the services_pppoe_edit.php script. This flaw enables attackers with the necessary PPPoE Server Edit permissions to insert malicious mpd.secret entries. By crafting unvalidated username POST fields, an attacker can trigger mpd5 to execute commands as root when a PPPoE client attempts authentication. This vulnerability poses a significant risk, enabling unauthorized command execution on the affected systems.

Affected Version(s)

pfSense CE 0 <= 2.9.0

Exploit Proof of Concept (PoC)
