What is CVE-2026-111272?

LibRaw through version 0.22.2 is vulnerable to a heap-based out-of-bounds read that occurs within the LibRaw::parseNikonMakernote() function. This vulnerability can be exploited by crafting a specially designed Nikon NEF or TIFF file containing a 5-byte ShotInfo tag set to version 243. Attackers may leverage this to read memory beyond the confines of the ShotInfo buffer, potentially causing applications that decode these images to crash and allowing unauthorized access to sensitive data.
