File Deletion Vulnerability in Nautilus by Red Hat
CVE-2026-111802

6.6MEDIUM

What is CVE-2026-111802?

A flaw exists in Nautilus that enables an attacker to exploit user interactions when unmounting removable drives or disk images. The application prompts users to empty the trash without validating the symbolic links in the trash directory paths. By persuading a user to mount a malicious storage volume and approve the trash emptying prompt, an attacker could potentially trigger arbitrary deletion of files accessible to the user, compromising data integrity and user trust.
