What is CVE-2026-111884?

In phpMyFAQ, an absence of a current password verification when changing an email address in the user control panel poses a risk. This vulnerability allows an attacker with a hijacked session to modify the account's email to their own address without proper authentication. Subsequently, the attacker can exploit the password-reset functionality to gain control over non-Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) accounts, including those with superadmin privileges, leading to unauthorized access and potential data breaches.
