What is CVE-2026-111891?

A vulnerability in phpMyFAQ versions prior to 4.2.0-beta enables non-superadministrator users with GROUP_EDIT permissions to manipulate group permissions inappropriately. This flaw allows these users to self-join groups and gain unrestricted capability to create, edit, and publish FAQs, bypassing language and category restrictions. Consequently, such privilege escalation can lead to a significant security breach, potentially affecting multiple language versions and categories within the FAQ system.
