What is CVE-2026-111895?

An authentication bypass vulnerability exists in phpMyFAQ versions 3.2.0 prior to 4.0.0 and 4.0.2 prior to 4.2.0-beta. This flaw affects the Microsoft Entra ID login flow, which erroneously utilizes the mutable preferred_username claim for user linking. The AuthEntraId::create() method fails to handle the duplicate-login exception effectively, allowing attackers with control over an Entra identity in the designated tenant, possessing a matching preferred_username, to usurp local accounts, including those with super-admin privileges.

Affected Version(s)

phpMyFAQ 3.2.0 < 4.0.0

phpMyFAQ 4.0.2 < 4.2.0-beta
