Uncontrolled Memory Allocation in VideoLAN libbluray
CVE-2026-112283
6.8MEDIUM
What is CVE-2026-112283?
VideoLAN's libbluray through version 1.5.1 features a vulnerability within _parse_extent_start_points() in clpi_parse.c, which is susceptible to uncontrolled memory allocation. This weakness arises from the num_point field not undergoing adequate bounds checking, allowing attackers to craft .clpi files that contain excessively large num_point values. When such files are processed, they can lead to memory exhaustion and CPU overload, resulting in a denial of service.
Affected Version(s)
