What is CVE-2026-112391?

The Pillow Imaging Library, utilized for processing images in Python, has a vulnerability in its PdfParser.get_value() function. From versions 5.1.0 to 12.0.0, this function can allow unlimited recursion when handling nested PDF objects. An attacker can exploit this vulnerability by submitting a crafted PDF with deeply nested structures during the image append operation. This can lead to a denial of service, as the application may encounter an uncaught RecursionError or terminate unexpectedly. The issue has been resolved in version 13.0.0, and users are encouraged to upgrade to mitigate this risk.
