What is CVE-2026-112397?

The Pillow Python imaging library, prior to version 13.0.0, contains a vulnerability in its ImageMorph.MorphOp.apply() method which can enable memory access issues. Specifically, when handling zero-width images generated from PPM and PGM input, the morphology routines do not appropriately manage the image's geometry, potentially leading to accessing memory that was not meant to be accessed. This flaw can cause applications utilizing Pillow to encounter crashes when processing specially crafted images. The issue has been addressed in version 13.0.0.
