What is CVE-2026-112899?

The Pillow Python imaging library contains a vulnerability in its EPS rendering functionality, where it fails to validate scaled image dimensions prior to invoking Ghostscript. This flaw allows applications that process untrusted EPS or PostScript files at an application-selected scale exceeding one to encounter excessive CPU load and temporary disk utilization. In configurations with decompression-bomb protection, the integrity checks for the scaled output occur post-rendering by Ghostscript, leading to potential resource consumption that surpasses the designated pixel threshold. The impact of this vulnerability is highly dependent on the scaling factor configured by the application, rather than a user-controlled scale. This issue has been rectified in version 13.0.0.

Affected Version(s)

Pillow >= 2.5.0, < 13.0.0
