What is CVE-2026-113794?

The pypdf library, a widely-used open-source pure-Python PDF manipulation tool, is susceptible to a Denial of Service vulnerability prior to version 6.20.0. An attacker can exploit this issue by crafting an incomplete PDF document that prematurely concludes within a standard cross-reference table. This leads to the mishandling of the unexpected EOF (End of File) condition, triggering an infinite loop in the library, which can cause application hang or crash. Users are urged to upgrade to version 6.20.0 or later to mitigate this risk.

Affected Version(s)

pypdf < 6.20.0
