What is CVE-2026-11401?

A vulnerability exists in the GlobalDatabasePlugin of the AWS Advanced Go Wrapper for Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL, where an untrusted search path can be exploited. This vulnerability allows a remote authenticated user with low privileges to escalate their privileges to those of another Amazon RDS user, potentially including the powerful rds_superuser role. The exploitation occurs through a crafted function created by the attacker, which executes when the targeted user connects to the database cluster. Users are strongly advised to upgrade to the AWS Advanced Go Wrapper release 2026-05-26 to mitigate this issue.
