Earlier versions of vLLM (prior to 0.31.0) have a vulnerability that permits unauthenticated attackers to exploit cache management issues resulting from client-supplied multimodal UUIDs. The lack of consistency checks on cache hits can lead to a desynchronization of processor caches, triggering fatal mismatches. This can cause a complete failure of the serving instance, necessitating a restart to restore functionality.
