What is CVE-2026-115478?

The Obsidian-TC Model Context Protocol server is susceptible to a data integrity vulnerability that compromises note ownership and lifecycle consistency. In versions ranging from 1.0.1 to 1.31.3, operations such as 'create_entity', 'link_entities', 'rename_entity', 'unlink_entities', and 'delete_entity' do not preserve ownership reliably, potentially allowing an authorized user to overwrite notes erroneously during shared materialization. A failed operation can lead to inconsistent data states, and specific actions like 'rename_entity' can write unverified data to existing notes, further exacerbating the risk. Solutions employing 'restore_note' can mitigate some concerns through snapshotting, but these are only effective if snapshots are enabled. This flaw has been rectified in version 1.31.4.

Affected Version(s)

obsidian-tc >= 1.0.1, < 1.31.4
