What is CVE-2026-116175?

The vLLM product, from version 0.19.0 to prior to 0.24.0, is susceptible to a decompression bomb vulnerability. This arises because the AudioMediaIO multimodal path invokes load_audio without applying a maximum duration limit on the decoded audio. Authenticated attackers can exploit this by sending small compressed audio files through the input_audio or audio_url parameters in /v1/chat/completions requests. These small inputs can decompress to a significantly larger size, consuming excessive server memory and potentially leading to denial-of-service conditions.
