What is CVE-2026-116177?

The vLLM application, versions 0.10.2 through 0.25.0, is susceptible to a vulnerability characterized by uncontrolled resource consumption. This flaw specifically allows unauthenticated users to exploit memory usage when submitting a specially crafted decompression-bomb image to the application’s completion endpoint (/v1/chat/completions). Due to a global configuration in the Nemotron-VL processors which sets Image.MAX_IMAGE_PIXELS to None, attackers can leverage this vulnerability to deplete memory resources, resulting in an out-of-memory (OOM) state that impacts service availability for all users sharing the same environment.
