Denial of Service Vulnerability in IBM Qiskit SDK Affects Multiple Versions
CVE-2026-116500

What is CVE-2026-116500?
The IBM Qiskit SDK versions 2.4.0 through 2.6.1 are vulnerable to a denial of service attack. A local attacker can exploit this vulnerability by sending malformed QPY payloads, leading to unbounded recursion during the deserialization process. This flaw could result in a service disruption, making the application unavailable to legitimate users. To mitigate this issue, it is advisable to upgrade to the latest version of the SDK or implement specific patches provided by IBM.
