Integer Overflow in FLTK Affects BMP Image Processing
CVE-2026-116724
8.5HIGH
What is CVE-2026-116724?
An integer overflow vulnerability exists in the FLTK library, specifically within the Fl_BMP_Image::load_bmp_() function. When processing crafted BMP or ICO files, inadequate pixel buffer allocation occurs due to user-supplied width and height dimensions. This flaw allows attackers to manipulate the decoding process, potentially writing beyond the allocated heap buffer and corrupting the application's memory space. Such exploitation could lead to unpredictable application behavior or crash, emphasizing the need for immediate remediation.
