What is CVE-2026-116887?

Semantic MediaWiki versions prior to 7.3.1 are vulnerable to a stored cross-site scripting attack. Users with page-edit rights can exploit this vulnerability by incorporating HTML payloads in Keyword-type properties. When rendered on the Special:Browse page, these unescaped values can execute JavaScript in the context of users viewing the page, including administrators. This allows attackers to steal sensitive information and manipulate user sessions, making it crucial for affected users to update to the latest version to mitigate this security risk.
