What is CVE-2026-116891?

SemanticMediaWiki versions prior to 7.2.1 are vulnerable to reflected cross-site scripting due to improper handling of cstate parameters in the Special:FacetedSearch functionality. This flaw enables attackers to inject malicious HTML, which can be executed in the browsers of unsuspecting users. By crafting specific URLs containing q, a matching crc32 checksum, or setting filtered=1, attackers can manipulate hidden input attributes, leading to potential exploitation of the affected applications.
