What is CVE-2026-117555?

CImg, a widely used library for image processing, is affected by a vulnerability that results in a heap out-of-bounds read in the _load_bmp() function located in CImg.h. This issue is triggered by an integer overflow when processing the row byte count of a crafted BMP file. Attackers can exploit this vulnerability by supplying a specially designed BMP file with an oversized header width, potentially leading to application crashes or exposing sensitive heap memory content in the decoded image.
