What is CVE-2026-117688?

A flaw exists in the client registration component of Keycloak, an open-source identity and access management solution. When utilizing a vault provider to securely store sensitive information, authenticated client owners can manipulate the system by leveraging specially crafted references. This manipulation allows them to expose secrets by directing a client secret to a vault entry and subsequently requesting the client configuration, revealing the sensitive data in plain text. Such a vulnerability may lead to unauthorized access to sensitive credentials that should remain confidential.
