What is CVE-2026-11787?

A flaw exists in the 389 Directory Server's ldap_utf8prev() function where it improperly accesses bytes before the start of a buffer without adequate bounds checking. This oversight leads to a heap buffer over-read during string filter parsing. As a result, this vulnerability could adversely affect the processing behavior of internal filters, raising concerns about the stability and security of server operations.
