Sensitive Information Exposure in Ansible Keyring Module by Red Hat
CVE-2026-11819

5.5MEDIUM

What is CVE-2026-11819?

The Ansible keyring module contains a security flaw whereby passphrases retrieved from the operating system's native keyring are directly exposed in output without proper suppression or logging protection. This can lead to the inadvertent disclosure of sensitive information, such as master passwords and SSH key passphrases, in Ansible's output and logs. Mitigation strategies include utilizing the no_log option at the task level to safeguard sensitive data and modifying the module code to prevent the unprotected output of such credentials.
