What is CVE-2026-118447?

The vulnerability in the pybddisasm Python bindings arises from the use of uninitialized memory, which can lead to unintended disclosure of process memory. When instruction decoding fails—due to invalid parameters or other issues—the nd_decode functions may produce an INSTRUX object with uninitialized contents. If an application accesses this object’s members after a failure, it may inadvertently reveal sensitive residual data from memory. Notably, the pybddisasm package is no longer maintained, making it crucial for users to consider the risks associated with this vulnerability.

Affected Version(s)

pybddisasm 0 <= 0.3.0
