What is CVE-2026-119409?

The vulnerability allows authenticated users with the System: Firmware privilege in OPNsense to execute arbitrary commands as root. This is achieved by manipulating the firmware mirror URL to inject malicious commands, which are evaluated by opnsense-update through an insecure eval function. Furthermore, attackers can exploit sed injection to disable package signature verification, significantly increasing the risk of unauthorized code execution and potential system compromise.
