What is CVE-2026-119429?

A vulnerability in phpMyAdmin through version 5.2.3 allows authenticated attackers to bypass two-factor authentication. By sending a request to /config/set with a null JSON value for the 2FA key, attackers can effectively disable the requirement for two-factor authentication. This exposes users to sessions that only require the MySQL password for login, significantly increasing the risk of unauthorized access. Organizations using affected versions of phpMyAdmin need to apply the necessary patches to mitigate this risk.

Affected Version(s)

phpMyAdmin 0 <= 5.2.3
