What is CVE-2026-119561?

phpMyAdmin versions up to 5.2.3 are affected by an authentication bypass in the CustomServer component. This flaw arises from the failure to validate WebAuthn assertion signatures against stored public keys. Attackers possessing valid MySQL credentials could exploit this vulnerability by sending a crafted 'webauthn_request_response' that matches the challenge, origin, and rpIdHash, allowing them to bypass the second factor of authentication and gain unauthorized access to database privileges.

Affected Version(s)

phpMyAdmin 0 <= 5.2.3
