What is CVE-2026-119719?

Blender versions prior to 4.5.15 and 5.x before 5.2.3 are susceptible to a heap buffer overflow caused by a 32-bit integer overflow within the thumbnail extraction process. When a specially crafted .blend file is processed by the blender-thumbnailer or during Windows shell extension previews, it may lead to out-of-bounds writes. This vulnerability potentially allows attackers to execute arbitrary code or crash the application.
