Information Disclosure Vulnerability in RESTEasy by Red Hat
CVE-2026-120971

5.3MEDIUM

What is CVE-2026-120971?

RESTEasy contains a vulnerability where its default exception mapper returns a localized message within the HTTP 500 response body when an unhandled exception occurs, except for WebApplicationException cases. This behavior can allow a remote unauthenticated client to glean potentially sensitive details included in the localized message if they are able to trigger such an exception. Reports indicate this issue has been observed in RESTEasy version 7.0.2.Final, with further documentation on affected versions forthcoming.
