What is CVE-2026-121396?

FreeRDP clients prior to version 3.32.2 possess a vulnerability that can be exploited by attackers controlling an RD Gateway. By sending a crafted RPC-over-HTTP RTS PDU with improperly formatted authentication padding, malicious actors can trigger a reachable assertion in the rts_read_auth_verifier function. This can lead to the premature termination of the connecting client process, causing a denial of service. Users of affected versions are encouraged to upgrade to the latest version to mitigate this risk.
