Memory Allocation Vulnerability in FreeRDP Affects RD Gateway Functionality
CVE-2026-121399
5.3MEDIUM
What is CVE-2026-121399?
FreeRDP, prior to version 3.32.2, contains a memory allocation vulnerability within the rdg_receive_packet function. This flaw allows a malicious RD Gateway to exploit memory allocation by initiating a 2 GiB client allocation before the tunnel authentication process. Attackers can maliciously create an eight-byte RDG header with a packet length of 0x7FFFFFFF, which results in pre-authentication memory exhaustion and could lead to a denial-of-service condition. Users of impacted versions should upgrade immediately to mitigate this risk.
