Buffer Overflow in GDB Client Affects Red Hat Products
CVE-2026-121995
7.5HIGH
What is CVE-2026-121995?
A stack buffer overflow in the GDB client’s tracepoint upload handler permits an attacker-controlled debug stub to corrupt stack memory during connection setup. This overflow occurs when GDB reads past the current reply boundary, accessing stale data from a previous reply stored in the shared packet buffer. Exploiting this vulnerability could allow for manipulation of the program's execution flow, leading to further security risks.
