What is CVE-2026-124311?

A NULL pointer dereference vulnerability exists in the InterPrediction::xPredInterBlk component of the VVdeC library, affecting versions up to 3.2.1. This issue allows attackers to induce a crash of the decoder by manipulating the Sequence Parameter Set (SPS) to enable reference wrap-around. Through this crafted VVC bitstream, an attacker can set the sps_ref_wraparound_enabled_flag, triggering erroneous reads from nonexistent PIC_RECON_WRAP buffers and resulting in a denial of service condition.

Affected Version(s)

vvdec 0 <= 3.2.1
