What is CVE-2026-124479?

OpenEMR versions prior to 8.4.0 are susceptible to a vulnerability that allows authenticated users to exploit the REST document download feature. By uploading a document that includes an absolute pathname, such as the sqlconf.php file, attackers can initiate a download that improperly references server-side files. This oversight enables unauthorized retrieval of sensitive content, including database credentials, thereby posing a significant risk to system integrity.
