What is CVE-2026-12628?

Multiple versions of IBM Storage Protect Client and IBM Storage Protect Snapshot For Windows are susceptible to an authentication bypass vulnerability. An embedded hardcoded credential in the FlashCopy Manager authentication mechanism potentially allows remote attackers to impersonate legitimate users. This flaw does not validate authentication responses properly, enabling attackers to establish unauthorized sessions and gain access to sensitive services and system resources.
