Heap Out-of-Bounds Write Vulnerability in Linux Kernel's RPC-over-RDMA Server
CVE-2026-13087

8.8HIGH

What is CVE-2026-13087?

A heap out-of-bounds write vulnerability exists in the Linux kernel's RPC-over-RDMA server reply path. This vulnerability allows an attacker to send a specially crafted NFS READ request, which can induce the server to linearize multiple pages of reply data into a fixed-size heap buffer without performing proper bounds checking. Consequently, this improper handling can lead to a kernel heap overflow, potentially causing a denial of service through a system crash or allowing an attacker to execute arbitrary code via the corruption of nearby kernel heap objects.
