What is CVE-2026-1386?
A local host user with write access to pre-created jailer directories in Firecracker can exploit a symbolic link following issue. When the jailer component is executed with root privileges, this vulnerability permits overwriting of arbitrary host files during the initialization process at jailer startup. The affected Firecracker versions are v1.13.1 and earlier and v1.14.0. Users are advised to upgrade to versions v1.13.2 or v1.14.1 and above to mitigate this risk.
