Vulnerability in LDAP Sudo Provider of SSSD Affects Red Hat Systems
CVE-2026-14474

8.8HIGH

What is CVE-2026-14474?

A vulnerability exists in the LDAP sudo provider of SSSD where, if the ldap_sudo_search_base option is not properly configured, the system will search the entire LDAP directory tree for sudoRole objects. This allows an authenticated attacker with write access to any part of the subtree to inject a malicious sudoRole object, potentially granting unauthorized root-level sudo privileges on all hosts that are enrolled with SSSD.
