What is CVE-2026-14680?

A type confusion vulnerability exists in PostgreSQL that allows users to execute arbitrary code with the privileges of the database operating system user. This issue arises due to gaps in the system's safeguards against invoking functions with 'internal' data type arguments, which are designed to be mutually incompatible and not intended for SQL access. Attackers can exploit this flaw in affected PostgreSQL versions prior to 18.5, 17.11, 16.15, 15.19, and 14.24, posing significant security risks if not addressed.
