What is CVE-2026-14684?

A vulnerability identified in HdrHistogram affects the function org.HdrHistogram.AbstractHistogram.decodeFromByteBuffer, leading to uncontrolled memory allocation when the argument numberOfSignificantValueDigits is manipulated. This flaw can only be executed locally, enabling an attacker to exploit the memory allocation issue. Despite early notification through an issue report, the project has not yet addressed the problem.
