SAML Authentication Bypass in Kong SAML Plugin
CVE-2026-14917
7.7HIGH
What is CVE-2026-14917?
A vulnerability in the Kong SAML plugin allows unauthenticated remote attackers to bypass SAML authentication. When the validate_assertion_signature option is set to false—an action that removes essential cryptographic verification—the plugin can accept unsigned SAML assertions. This flaw enables attackers to craft malicious SAML responses, potentially impersonating any user, including those with administrative privileges. Users are advised to ensure that the validation option is enabled to mitigate these risks effectively.
