What is CVE-2026-16477?

CleanShot X for macOS contains a vulnerability that allows untrusted data deserialization. An attacker can create a malicious .cleanshot file and deliver it to a target user. If the user opens this file, the embedded payload executes automatically, leading to arbitrary code execution within the context of the user’s session. Users who have only interacted with .cleanshot files from trusted sources are unaffected. It's vital for users to update to the latest versions to mitigate this risk.

Affected Version(s)

CleanShot X MacOS 4.0.0 < 4.5.2

CleanShot X MacOS 4.6.0 < 4.6.3
