Integer Overflow Vulnerability in PCP Daemon by Red Hat
CVE-2026-16529

7.5HIGH

What is CVE-2026-16529?

A vulnerability exists in the PCP daemon due to a signed integer overflow in the __pmGetPDU() function. This can be exploited by attackers through specially crafted network packets during the processing of Protocol Data Units (PDU) or during SASL negotiation. Successful exploitation can permanently blind the affected PCP daemon, leading to denial of service (DoS) as it becomes unable to handle subsequent packet reads effectively.
