What is CVE-2026-16560?

A heap-buffer-overflow flaw has been identified in Red Hat's Directory Server (389-ds-base). This vulnerability arises when a distinguished name (DN) contains a legacy-quoted value. The server fails to properly terminate the heap allocation, allowing subsequent references to the same memory pointer. This can lead to a denial of service or potentially enable arbitrary memory write operations, compromising system integrity.
